JIM THORPE ADOPTS A SEATTLE FAMILY FROM YWCA
This holiday season Seattle Real Estate Expert, Jim Thorpe has chosen to donate to the YWCA Winter Gift Giving Program. His donations will help to make this holiday season brighter for less fortunate families.
WINTER GIFT GIVING
As a passionate and dedicated community member in Seattle, Jim Thorpe is driven by positively impacting the area in which he lives and providing aid to individuals who need it most. The YWCA’s gift giving program pairs those wanting to give, with specific families in the Seattle area who are in need. Through his generosity, Jim will be bringing extra holiday cheer to 3 YWCA families this year.
The holidays are a time for joy and celebration, but unfortunately, not everyone has access to the same holiday comforts that many of us enjoy. To make sure no one is left forgotten, the YWCA runs an annual holiday-giving program across King and Snohomish counties that helps more than 1,000 families each year. From providing presents for children to delivering holiday meals, the holiday giving program ensures that families in need can be included in the holiday spirit. Although many of us may take these privileges for granted, this program comes as a beacon of hope for YWCA families, during what can otherwise be a difficult time of year.
Thorpe’s previous efforts to make an impact in the Seattle community are demonstrated in his past philanthropic involvement. In October, Thorpe hosted the 8th Laurelhurst Haunted House. In lieu of an entry fee, attendees were asked to donate $1.00 or a non-perishable good to benefit Northwest Harvest. Not only did the event promote community unity, but it also provided the opportunity to give back. In total, the Laurelhurst Haunted House collected $10,000 and 5 tons of food throughout the three-day production.
